Windows Deployment Services or WDS is the preffered method of deploying Windows Seven in a corporate environment. WDS can make effective use of PXE protocol so there is no need to create boot media or network CDs and as it is a free technology from Microsoft, you don't have to pay for a third party solution for imaging your machines. WDS can have a lot of uses and much more effective and complex deployment scenarios, however for the scope of this article, we will only consider how to use Windows Deployment Services to deploy a basic Windows Seven install image to remote machine, which will allow for Windows Seven installation.
We are assuming that you have already setup the WDS service on your server. For the next step put your Windows Seven DVD in your Windows Deployment Server and then launch Windows Deployment Server console from the Start Menu
Right click on Add Install Image node in left pane and then choose Add Install Image
On the Image Group Prompt, choose New Image Group, and then Provide the name "Windows Seven"
